Saving/Exporting Locally Difficult in OnDemand - would like favorites to be saved by login.

Most reports and data I pull needs to be exported and modified locally on my computer, not to mention saved for records on our networks and/or Google Drive. In order to save to my computer and not the ACS version of windows explorer, I have to select Computer > C Drive > Users > My Account > Folder every single time. I called support and was told that ACS doesn't have the capability to save favorite folder locations between log ins.

Is it possible to either submit to R&D to have the favorites memorized so it will keep our local drives more easily accessible or have it act as a true windows explorer on the machine we're working, not an ACS OnDemand cloud? It's very tedious and frustrating to have to follow the 5+ layer file extension trail every time we want to save or export anything.

Thanks for your help!

I gave up trying to navigate and just email myself any needed reports.  Then I can save them wherever I want using my computer's normal navigation processes.

I have also started to email the reports to me, because saving to my local folders from an email is much easier. However, I would like to see ACS develop an easier way to either save favorites between logins or improve navigation. This is feedback that I provided YEARS ago and hasn't been acted upon yet. Please don't forget about us Mac users in this development. We'd like to be able to navigate using Finder.

I would like to see an easier way to save them! When I save them, I can never find them again. I would like a simple way to do this, as well, but I will follow others and email them to myself.

Hi All,

Thanks for all of your feedback. We understand the need and at this time, we don't have a way to save favorites per OnDemand login. One reason is because a user's available network drives can be different within each site so what might be my F drive might be another user's H drive. Due to the complexity of implementing this request, this is not planned for our OnDemand environment.

However, there is a way to save folders under the Libraries>Documents folder that shows on the left hand-side when you're prompted to export/save the file. To do this, when the screen displays showing Recent Places, Documents, Libraries and Network icons on the left and the drop-down of your network drives is available at the top, select the network drive, then folders until you are at the last folder that you would usually open to save your file in. Right-click on that folder name, choose Include in Library, then select Documents. Then the next time you need to save a report or export file, when the screen below displays, just choose Libraries then documents and you'll see the folder you saved. Click on it once, then save your report/export file. Go back to your local workstation and you should see the report/export file in the folder.

For example, I have a mapped network drive that has subfolders under it named documents/rmusickdoc../Other. So I chose that drive in the drop-down list beside Save in:, then selected documents, selected rmusickdoc..., then chose right-click on the Other folder and chose Include in Library, selected Documents and chose OK. Now the Other folder is available when I choose Libraries then Documents. I click once on Other and save my files. You can save multiple locations and when you choose Libraries, Documents, they will display in the list similar to below, click once on whichever folder you want to save the report/file and save it.

Hope this helps!

HI all,

After further review and research by our developers, we will not be making any changes to the way export files are saved in OnDemand.
