Re: RECURRING GIVING in Access ACS::::
Is there an option to disable the "End Date"/"Number of Occurances".
With this mandatory end-date, we will lose valuable donors or cause unnecessary work. Can ACS consider to incorporate this change.

When I pay my bills online there is always an option for the recurring giving to continue indefinitely. I have all of my important bills on this option, when I am done paying them I uncheck this option.

We have noticed that there is only a "date start" and "date end" option and you have to click an end date!

It would be helpful if our congregants could choose to have their recurring giving for an indefinite period.

Would love to have the default on online giving be "forever" unless an end date is entered. We are constantly dealing with people upset that the contributions stopped sometime during the year either because they set up an end date or the card expired. The expired cards I get, but forcing an end date is counter productive for the church to get people to give online. We send out quarterly statements, so one would think they notice, but they don't.

I asked for this a LONG time ago. This is a huge issue with us, especially at year end.

This has been a request for two years...and it is becoming a serious problem for us. I've received several calls this week from people whose recurring ACH gifts stopped mid-2012 and they were not aware of it. They will not be making up those payments, so we are out those gifts. Please make this a top priority to fix.

The other thing would be to alert staff as well as congregant that the giving is stopping for someone. If this is the last payment, let us know!

Becky,

We do send the congregant an email when their recurring gifts is ending. I am moving the comment above to the existing Idea asking for the church staff to also be notified.

This is a great conversation that's separate from the main topic, so I created a new topic to continue the discussion. Please reference the new topic here: Send notification to church staff when a recurring gift is ending

Is there any update to the possibility of having a no end date for recurring giving?

Although the congregant receives an email many times it is not noticed or has gone to their junk folder.

In setting up recurring giving using Access ACS it would be good to have the option to leave the end date open-ended. Some of our members would like to set up an ongoing contribution and not have to do anything else until they are ready to change it.

Allowing recurring giving to be setup without an end date is outside the scope of development plans for Access ACS. We have added this feature in The City online giving and in our new product Realm.

The request to add the online giving administrator to the emails the member receives when their recurring gift has ended is still open and hopefully this will be added which we believe will help the church/organization know when a gift has stopped and can contact the member/church.

Hi all - Good news! Originally this was not planned for Access ACS but based on feedback from you we will be adding the option of "Until I cancel" later this year! I'll post an update when the release date has been scheduled.

As of the end of October 2018, members can now set up a recurring gift and choose "Until I cancel". Thank you for your patience.
