Add a Preferred Campus setting on Individual Profile

There are so many functions such as event registration, attendance, giving, connections, and calendars that tend to be campus related or campus specific that it would be helpful if a Preferred Campus could be stamped on an individual's profile.

When a member logon interacts online then much of the context of that user's access is that of the campus associated with them such as a calendar or CB Funds associated with that campus. In a sense, the Preferred Campus becomes a marketing context from the church to the online user to help filter out somewhat irrelevant content and push meaningful content to the user.

This can help the church office too with reports, statistics, and searches so that Gifts, Attendance and Connections can be marked by campus where the individual's Preferred Campus becomes the default stamp marked on those records; but the option to switch a campus stamped on a record is desired as some congregants may go to activities hosted at a particular campus from time to time that is not their preferred one.

Last, setting a Preferred Campus while adding an individual could be useful both online and offline (ACSW) so new people are plugged in where they seem to belong; but afterwards online users can change their preference for whatever personal reason. This suggests a logon user may have a Preferred Campus that can be presumed to be the campus intended for adding a new individual or also presume to be whatever the Head of Household has as the Preferred Campus. Of course, the ability to override how the Preferred Campus is set during a logon session, that is to say, the default Preffered Campus that gets stamped on all new people entered in, or override the Preferred Campus set on entry of a particular new person, is desirable too.

This is not in the scope of the current ACS products but we do plan to build out the multi-campus feature in our new Realm product. Having a Primary Campus field setup either on the Additional Fields tab or Family tab is a best practice for multi-site churches as this allows you to search on this field and contact individuals about events at specific campuses.

Thanks,
Rebekah

Hi Melanie,

Thank you for the feedback. This is not planned for ACS People. The campus field should show up in Access ACS when you have it set up as an additional field per individual not family. And we don't have multi-campus in ACS financials either. You can set up different funds for the campuses and print by fund but that really isn't true multi-campus. Yes, it doesn't show up in Church Life and we don't have any plans to update Church Life.

We understand the need and hopefully it won't be too long before Realm is ready for you.
